Is Kerry Being Improperly Advised?
From the style of John Kerry's attacks, it sounds like his primary objective will be to attack the Bush Administration's integrity (i.e. calling President Bush a liar, maintaining that Cheney still is on the pay roll of Haliburton, etc). If he continues this pattern, his Party may find it more difficult to win. While President Bush's numbers continue to rise (depending on which pole you read), Kerry has been unable to make it out of the 40's. When any Democratic Analyst is confronted by the increased margins in several of the polls, they quote a few polls that state Kerry is either ahead or behind by one point.
It's my observation that every candidate panders to whatever group he's speaking to, but Kerry and the Democrats appear carry it to the extreme. He has three main themes going right now:
a) Disenfranchisement of blacks,
b) Attacking President Bush on his handling of our military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq, and our lack of unilateteral support from our European "Allies" (i.e. France, Russia, etc), and
c) Laying the ground work for a possible late inning scare tactic of using Social Security as an issue with senior citizens to sway their vote.
I believe that if you have the ability to make a "rational" decision, these type of attacks will not sway your vote, but if you've been lied to year after year by your party, and have been told said lies long enough, it becomes the truth, and nothing is going to change your vote. The Democrats are relying on these tactics to sway enough voters to sweep their candidate into the White House.
Kerry is using scare tactics over substative issues, because he realizes he has no substance to his last 20 years in the Senate. He is useing his 4-1/2 months on a swift boat, his "bandaid" purple hearts and his "dubious" silver star as his lead for his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). This allowed Conservative groups (i.e. "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth") room to attack his tour of duty. Liberal groups (i.e "Moveon.Org") then attacked President Bush on a miriad of issues, one of which was his not serving in Vietnam and his service in the Texas Air National Guard (TANG). The attacks by the swift boat veterans appeared to have quieted some, but groups such as http://www.moveon.org have continued to hit the air waves. I feel these negative ads against President Bush will only hurt the Democrats, rather than aid them as they want them to.
I don't know about you, but I'll be more than glad for this to be over and the Presidential election to be something of the past. Of course, depending on whom wins, this will provide material for radio talk show hosts and television analyist.

Tonight on "Hannity & Colmes", Ex VP Candidate/Democratic Airhead, Geraldine Ferraro, could not answer a direct question from Sean Hannity. Sean asked her if Kerry should apologize for his War Crimes and this bee itch spins off an answer. I love how you ask a DemonRAT a direct question and you can't get a direct answer. I'm beginning to believe that we need to designate some of these pin head DemonRAT's terrorism combatants and terminate them with extreme prejudice. Of course I may be wrong.
